I arrived in Korea on August 15, 1998 with $15 in my pocket. I am currently employed by a leading Korean news agency, where I collaborate with correspondents, reporters, and editors to produce accurate, publication-ready content. My work focuses on political, diplomatic, and military affairs, particularly South Korean politics, North Korean weapons programs, UN Security Council resolutions, IAEA matters, arms control and nonproliferation, environmental issues, human rights, democracy, and global trade policy. I developed a strong work ethic early on, holding a wide range of jobs from Grade 5 through university—everything from farm labor to retail and manual trades. My passion for geography and exploration took me on a solo trip to Barbados at 18, and later into academic and naval service. I earned a degree in Political Science and Geography from the University of Ottawa, followed by graduate studies in Geography at the University of Western Ontario. As a Naval Signalman in the Canadian Naval Reserves, I trained extensively and served on multiple vessels, including joint exercises with foreign navies. My journey in East Asia began in Jeonju, South Korea, where I taught English at elementary schools, academies, government agencies, and dozens of companies. In 2002, I moved to Taiwan for eight years, where I taught across all levels of education, worked on projects with the Foreign Affairs Bureau and Fortune 500 firms, and served as a Global Marketing Consultant for Her Sheen Enterprises. I returned to Korea in 2010 and have since worked nationwide as a teacher, editor, and consultant. With decades of international experience, I continue to support others in developing clear communication skills and a global mindset.
