Richard Pierrin (b. 2002, Petit-Goave, Haiti) is a Haitian photojournalist with a deep focus on documentary photography. He has captured powerful stories from his homeland, Haiti, documenting the country’s socio-political struggles and the resilience of its people. Now living in the United States since March 2024, Richard continues to explore Haitian narratives, particularly through his project New Horizons: The Stories of Young Haitian Immigrants, which highlights the experiences of Haitians forced to leave due to gang violence and other challenges. Richard’s career has been marked by participation in prestigious programs like the Joop Swart Masterclass 2024 in Amsterdam and the Eddie Adams Workshop XXXVII, where he honed his skills in storytelling. He seamlessly combines photography with written narratives, aiming to bring Haitian stories to the forefront of global conversations. Richard speaks French , Haitian Creole and English. He is based in Washington, DC but available for assignments worldwide.
