Pari Abbasli is a journalist based in Berlin, Germany, but soon will move out. She is a journalist from Azerbaijan, specializing in media literacy, digital storytelling, and the politics of representation. She holds a Master’s degree in Journalism, Media, and Globalization from Aarhus University (Denmark) and Charles University (Czechia) as an Erasmus Mundus Journalism scholar. Her research has focused on media under totalitarian regimes, media criticism and gender dynamics in Azerbaijani journalism. She feels comfortable with covering political, technology-related and societal topics. Beyond academia, Pari founded Pulse of a Machine, a media initiative making critical media literacy accessible (and fun) for Azerbaijani youth. She has worked on feminist journalism and was part of the coordination team of the Sevil International Women’s Documentary Film Festival.
