Nigeria's Tobi Amusan and Kenya's Ferdinand Omanyala led their teams to victory in the 4x100m relays at the African Athletics Championships in Mauritius. Amusan, who also won the 100m hurdles, helped Nigeria secure gold in the women's relay, while Omanyala added another gold to his collection by anchoring Kenya's men's relay team. South Africa and Zimbabwe also performed well, securing silver and bronze respectively. The Gambia's Gina Bass made history by winning the nation's first relay medal. In other events, Ethiopia's Hailemariyam Tegen won the men's 3,000m steeplechase, with Kenya's Benjamin Kigen finishing sixth.
