Tom Popyk is an award-winning freelance international "backpack" broadcaster, and former Mideast and South Asia Correspondent for Global TV (Canada). Over the past decade Tom has covered conflicts ranging from the Syrian and Libyan wars, to the Arab spring revolutions and Somali famine, to extensive front-line and back room coverage of the Afghanistan war. Living almost two years in Iraq, he covered the Falluja and Najaf campaigns, Abu Ghraib, major bombings, the Anbar insurgency, and on going political developments.
