This issue could cause the vehicle to inadvertently creep forward, increasing the risk of a crash. The affected models were manufactured between December 11, 2020, and January 15, 2024. Asco Motors is contacting owners to book the special service campaign, which will be conducted free of charge and involves reprogramming the Transmission ECU Software.

In December, nine individuals were charged with a total of 44 sexual offences in Fiji, including 37 counts of rape, four counts of indecent assault, and three counts of sexual assault. Two offenders were juveniles. The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions released these statistics, noting that there were 10 victims, half of whom were under 18, with eight female and two male victims. In one case, a 32-year-old was charged with 18 counts of rape against his 13-year-old stepdaughter, and there were five incidents where the victims and accused were related.

FIU's first director to retire this year

Razim Buksh, the first director of Fiji Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), will retire at the end of December 2023 after a 36-year career with the Reserve Bank of Fiji (RBF). The Governor of RBF and the National Anti-Money Laundering Council will oversee the appointment of a new director.
