A new MRSA action plan for agriculture has been announced by Danish Food Minister Dan Jørgensen, following a fourfold increase in MRSA cases in Danish pig herds since 2010. Karl Pedersen, a professor at DTU Veterinary Institute, which has been granted 25 million kroner for a research project on MRSA, states that current knowledge on combating MRSA is limited.
