About Simone
Simone Tedeschi is an Italian journalist based in Rome, Italy.
Freelance journalist since 1996, I have collaborated with newspapers, magazines and national TV (L'Unità, Diario della settimana, Sorgente di vita-Rai2 and others) dealing mainly with cinema, shows, culture, social aspects of the Internet and new media.

After graduating in History and Criticism of Cinema and attending courses for teaching, I held courses in "Education in cinema and television languages" and "History of cinema" in some high schools in Rome and Milan and at the European Institute of Design.

I combine and integrate the different experiences acquired in different sectors to create new ones. Curious by nature, chronic early adopter, born explorer, I also apply my acquired skills to Mobile Journalism.
Currently I am working on a new project to allow wide audiences to produce new video formats on Internet, on demand and on live streaming.

The Holobox and the Holobox Mini

11 Jan 2024  |  medium.com
The article discusses two products, the Holobox and the Holobox Mini, which are devices designed to create hologram displays. The Holobox is suitable for various applications including advertising, entertainment, and education, and allows interaction through gestures, voice, or touch. The Holobox Mini is a more portable and affordable version, ideal for personal use such as gaming and video calls. Both devices are AI-powered, enabling them to produce realistic and responsive holograms that can be customized by the user. Holoconnects, the company behind these products, has developed a modular system for Google/Android that lets users create and connect multiple hologram displays with their smartphones.

Can AI Be as Creative as Humans?

08 Jan 2024  |  generativeai.pub
The article discusses a new framework for evaluating AI creativity, as presented in a recent paper by Wang et al. (2024). The framework introduces the concepts of Relative and Statistical Creativity, with a focus on practical measures for autoregressive models like Large Language Models (LLMs) that predict the next token in text generation. The author, Simone Tedeschi, explains the concept of Relative Creativity, which avoids universally defining creativity and instead compares AI's creative abilities to those of a hypothetical human. This approach is inspired by the Turing Test, which compares machine intelligence to human responses. The article emphasizes the importance of this new framework for future AI research and development, and the challenges of objectively measuring creativity due to its subjective and context-dependent nature.

Generative AI: A Fresh Survey

07 Jan 2024  |  medium.com
The article provides an overview of the evolution and current state of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), particularly focusing on Large Language Models (LLMs) and their development. It begins by tracing the history of language modeling from the late 1980s, highlighting the transition from rule-based to machine learning algorithms in Natural Language Processing (NLP). The article discusses the challenges faced by current GenAI, such as fine-tuning, hallucinations, and alignment issues. It also touches upon new trends like Mixture of Experts (MoE) and multimodal models, as well as the real-world applications and ethical considerations of GenAI. Lastly, it mentions OpenAI's Q* Project as a future direction in AI. The article is based on a paper found on ArXiV that details recent trends and future directions in GenAI.
