Saida Swaleh Rashid is a journalist based in Nairobi, Kenya. Saida is an experienced multi- media award winning journalist with a proven record for over 13 years in writing, presenting, scripting, editing, translations and voicing. Her vast communications experience has enabled her to excel in perfecting the art of writing, work closely with a multidiscipline team, travelled to some of the most luxurious and remote places in and around Africa, interviewed high profile Government officials, covered general elections and understood the world of public health care better. Saida holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and media studies from the University of Nairobi and currently working on her master’s in diplomacy from the same university. Saida has won several awards locally and internationally in her in depth reporting in matters health and human-interest stories. She has extensive training from Reuters and BBC including high risk training for journalists working in conflict areas (HEFAT).
