About Philippe
Philippe MALONG is a Reporter based in Bafoussam, Cameroon. He began his career in 2011 at an urban radio station in Yaoundé, founded and run by Marcel Amoko, a respected international journalist in Cameroon. For nearly 7 years he worked as an excellent reporter and producer of radio magazines, particularly on culture. In 2017, he met Patrick Fandio, a former war reporter for the French channel TF1, and now CEO of the production company Hémisphère Média. Patrick Fandio inspired Philippe to report on African realities through television news stories. It took him 2 years to get started. In the meantime, Philippe was asked to work in Bafoussam, in the West Cameroon region, as Editor-in-Chief of a local radio station, where he presented the news and produced major reports such as the one on the displaced people of the Anglophone crisis in the West Cameroon region. This story recounts the ordeal of people uprooted and almost abandoned because of the war in the English-speaking regions of Paul Biya's country, with gripping testimonies that demonstrate the need for effective humanitarian action on behalf of these victims. Or Birth registration in West Cameroon. A story revealing that more than 56,000 people in the West region have no birth certificate. Among them are children whose future may already be in jeopardy. This report won him a prize in the competition for the best journalistic productions on children's rights in Cameroon, a competition launched in 2019 by the Network of Journalists for the Rights of Children and other Vulnerable Groups. Philippe Malong has been a freelance TV reporter since 2019. He has produced several reports commissioned by the international channel Africanews. He is able to edit his travaux himself using Adobe Premier Pro software.
