Hi I’m Mitima Delachance, Congolese journalist based in Bukavu in the province of South Kivu, in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo. I report and investigate political, security, health, environment, sustainable development, social issues, etc. I started journalism on November 6, 2004 at Sauti ya Rehema radio in Bukavu until the end of 2009. From 2010 to 2012 I worked in the Freelance project as a journalist at Radio Maendeleo in Bukavu. Anxious to make video reports too, i joined Radio Television Ngoma ya Kivu, RTNK of Bukavu, from 2013 until today when i perfected myself in audiovisual reports, also presenter of the Sociopolitical Debate on TV relayed on the radio and on youtube. In my journalistic experience, i benefited from the trainings in journalism such as those of the Deutsche Welle Akademie or Voice of America organized in Bukavu. 2011 was the start of my collaboration with the international media. I produced health reports for The Voice of America's program “Your Health Your Future” until 2015. In April 2017 I joined Radio France Internationale, first in its Swahili service (RFI kiswahili), then in its French-speaking service (RFI Africa) after the meditative coverage of the December 2018 elections in the DRC. Since 2018, I’m correspondent of Sauti ya America and the Swahili service of Deutsche Welle in South Kivu, and this international experience enabled me to further improve my services, and improve my Swahili written and spoken. In April 2020, i created my own online media kivu5.net, which allows me to supervise a dozen young journalist collaborators. The idea is to transform Kivu5 into a large production studio for radio and TV broadcasts, and content for the online press, although the funds have been lacking so far. Mitima Delachance speaks French and Swahili; I’m already learning English. (I’m already making efforts to understand, write, and talk it) Thank you for believing in my abilities!

Burundi Sends a 'Special Message'
Burundi is determined to strengthen its bilateral relations with the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), as conveyed in a 'special message' from Burundian President Evariste Ndayishimiye to his Congolese counterpart Felix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo on June 28, 2021. The Burundian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Albert Shingiro, delivered the message in Goma, emphasizing peace, border security, and development. A summit between the two heads of state is anticipated, with the date to be announced soon. The DRC and Burundi share a border and have significant cross-border commercial activity.
