Police in Mpumalanga are on the lookout for a cattle herder accused of raping three boys, two aged 7 and one aged 14. The allegations include the herder giving the boys dagga (cannabis) and alcohol before committing the abuse. The incidents reportedly occurred in the veld where the herder worked. The cases were reported by the parents of the boys, and the police's specialized unit for family violence, child protection, and sexual offences is handling the investigation. The abuse was discovered by a parent who noticed signs while bathing her child.

Robert Khaya Segone, the Speaker of the Victor Khanye Local Municipality, has been granted bail after being charged with the assault of the municipal manager, Mvenselwa Mahlangu. The alleged incident occurred in the manager's office and was reportedly sparked by a court interdict obtained by Mahlangu against a group of disruptive young men. Segone, who was detained until his bail application, is accused of slapping Mahlangu during a confrontation. The Speaker is due back in court on March 15.
