Halima Cisse, a 26-year-old woman, gave birth to nine babies at the Ain Borja clinic in Casablanca, Morocco, setting a new world record. The babies, who were conceived naturally, are currently in intensive care and require extensive medical attention, consuming 100 nappies and six litres of milk daily. The Malian government has funded the £1 million care bill. Cisse, who is recovering from the arduous birth, only visits her babies twice a day. Her husband, Kader Arby, a sailor in the Malian navy, joined her in Morocco after COVID-19 travel restrictions were lifted. The couple, who already have a daughter, are grateful for the support from the medical team and the Malian government. Despite the challenges, they have not ruled out having more children in the future.
