University lecturers in Kenya, led by the Universities Academic Staff Union (Uasu), have commenced their third strike of the year, demanding the implementation of the 2013-2017 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). The body of Ms Veronica Muthoni, one of the victims of the Lake Nakuru helicopter crash on October 21, has been recovered. The discovery was made by the search team, which found the helicopter's wreckage, reported to be 70 percent intact, at a depth of 5.4 meters and 2.44km from the western end of the lake. Nakuru County Police Commander Hassan Barua confirmed the recovery, and the body was taken to Umash funeral home. The search continues for the remaining two victims, Mr Sam Gitau and John Mapozi, who are suspected to be trapped inside the wreckage. The Sonko Rescue Team has claimed credit for the discovery of the wreckage.

Prof. Michieka Ratemo and the current chancellor, Prof. Miriam Were, also competed, with Prof. Were finishing last. The top three contenders' names will be forwarded to the president by the University Council for the final appointment. Prof. Were will remain in office until the new chancellor is appointed by the president.
