Substantiation and Effectiveness of Remote Monitoring System Based on IoMT Using Portable ECG Device
The study evaluates the effectiveness of a portable ECG device, HiCardi, based on IoMT technology for remote cardiovascular monitoring. Conducted in South Korea, the research involved 2000 participants and demonstrated the device's capability to detect abnormal cardiovascular signals, leading to timely diagnoses and interventions. Despite legal challenges in South Korea regarding remote healthcare, the study highlights the potential of IoMT devices in preventative healthcare. The research also discusses the regulatory environment in South Korea and compares it with more liberal frameworks in the US and EU, which have facilitated the integration of remote monitoring technologies. The study concludes with a call for further research to enhance the predictive capabilities of IoMT devices using AI.
Substantiation and Effectiveness of Remote Monitoring System Based on IoMT Using Portable ECG Device
The study evaluates the effectiveness of a portable ECG device, integrated with Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) technology, for remote cardiovascular monitoring. Conducted with 2,000 participants, the trial involved real-time monitoring during hiking activities. Abnormal signals were detected in 318 participants, with 182 advised to seek medical attention. Follow-up showed that 139 responded, and 30 pursued further examination, leading to seven diagnoses of cardiovascular conditions. The device's ability to detect abnormalities and facilitate timely interventions highlights its potential for preventative healthcare applications.
Control Method of Step Voltage Regulator on Distribution Lines with Distributed Generation
This study proposes a novel tap-changing algorithm for step voltage regulators (SVRs) on long distribution lines with large-scale distributed generations (DGs), addressing the challenges of maintaining proper line voltage due to bi-directional power flow. The algorithm considers line load conditions and reverse power flow, and its effectiveness is verified through simulations using the PSCAD/EMTDC software tool. The research suggests that the proposed method can improve conventional voltage control methods and is expected to solve voltage regulation problems in distribution systems with significant DG interconnection.
