Validated tools for assessing depression include the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, Beck Depression Inventory, and Montgomery-Åsberg Depression Rating Scale. Pharmacotherapy and/or psychotherapy are recommended to improve quality of life, treatment adherence, and survival rates in oncology patients.
