Jayatri Nag is an Independent journalist based in Kolkata, India. Previously, for the last decade, she worked as an Assistant Editor in Times of India Group's Mumbai Mirror. She has a rich industry experience of 20 years in print and three years in digital media. She writes on diverse topics starting from Politics, Business and hard news of various types. She has equal command in English and Bengali. She has covered several landmark events like Lalgarh and Singur movements in Bengal, which became international headlines. She also travelled in North-East for several coverages for my paper, including Irom Chanu Sharmila who broke 16-year-long fast. I have also covered the 2009, 2011, 2014 and 2019 elections in Bengal single handedly. Among these, 2011 was a landmark election in which Mamata Banerjee ousted 34-year-old Communist rule from Bengal.
