Traditional giants like Dynamos and Highlanders faltered due to poor coaching decisions and instability. The article highlights the challenges and prospects for various teams in the upcoming 2024 season, emphasizing the need for proper organization and stability to reclaim dominance in Zimbabwean football.

Dave Houghton, head coach of Zimbabwe Cricket, addressed the national team's failure to qualify for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, attributing the defeats to players' inability to handle pressure. He emphasized the need for a stronger development program and franchise cricket that simulates high-pressure situations to better prepare players. Houghton plans to discuss these issues and potential solutions with Zimbabwe Cricket in the coming weeks.

ZC selectors axe Chevrons quartet
Following Zimbabwe's poor performance at the ICC T-20 World Cup qualifier in Namibia, four players have been dropped from the national team. Tendai Chatara, Wellington Masakadza, Innocent Kaia, and Nick Welch were excluded from the squad for the upcoming home series against Ireland. Two uncapped players, Brian Bennett and Trevor Gwandu, have been named in the 15-man squad. Sikandar Raza will lead the team, which includes several players from the Namibian campaign. The team is currently practicing at Harare Sports Club under head coach Dave Houghton.
Warriors risk losing Brito
Baltemar Brito's contract as coach of Zimbabwe's national soccer team, the Warriors, is set to expire at the end of December, coinciding with the end of his contract with the Highlanders. Zifa, Zimbabwe's football governing body, must decide whether to extend Brito and fitness coach Antonio Torres's contracts and reapply for their work permits. Brito has expressed interest in continuing with the team, but there is a risk he could be persuaded elsewhere if Zifa delays. Brito's tenure included a friendly match against Botswana and World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Nigeria. His association with Highlanders was marked by an unbeaten streak and interest from Zifa due to the team's performance.

Gems target flourishing finish
The Zimbabwe national netball team, known as the Gems, will compete against Botswana for third place in the Africa Netball Championships after missing the finals despite a victory over Eswatini. The Gems required a win with a margin of at least 20 goals but started slowly, which cost them a spot in the semis. Zambia and Namibia will play in the final, while Eswatini and Kenya vie for fifth place. The Gems made several positional changes during their match against Eswatini, with Kelly Myambo making her debut and contributing to the team's performance.
