How to take better travel photos?
Eva-Lotta Jansson provides tips on how to take better travel photos. She suggests starting with planning and creating a destination shot-list. Jansson offers three methods for improving travel photography: taking a bucket-list approach for a dream destination, specializing in a particular aspect of photography such as nature or culture, and downloading her free shot-list guide which includes questions to help build a shot-list. She also encourages practicing travel photography in one's hometown, as familiarity and time allow for exploring different perspectives. Jansson hints at sharing future tips on implementing the travel shot-list to capture exceptional travel pictures.
My photographic eye influenced by artistic ghosts?
Eva-Lotta Jansson reflects on the influence of postcards on her photographic work. During a visit to her mother in Sweden, she notices a postcard of a painting by Anders Zorn that resembles a photo she recently took of a sunrise in the Swedish Archipelago. Intriguingly, Zorn used to dock his boat and watch the sunrise at the same spot where Jansson took her photo. She muses whether the postcards she saw growing up subliminally shaped her photographic eye or if it was a coincidence that she found the perfect sunrise spot, which she refers to as a 'friendly joke' by the artistic ghosts of the island. Jansson also notes that postcards can be valuable resources for researching travel stories and finding destination highlights.
