I'm passionate about visual stories well told and have been making compelling documentaries and factual shorts for over 24 years. I shoot (videos and photos); direct, I do video editing (on Final Cut Pro X) and I write. I'm a one-woman operation with my own camera, sound and editing gear. Some career highlights include following a gang of township car-jackers for a year; filming with Zulu ex-pats on a farm in rural Ireland; telling the stories of marginalized township men in 'Four Rent Boys'; producing a film about Khoi San youth composing rap songs, and creating two films that narrated the hitherto untold story of the links between Apartheid struggle heroes and township soccer. My documentaries have been broadcast in SA and abroad. When I am not making factual films I also teach visual storytelling to under-grad journalists at the Wits Journalism School. I have a MA with commendation in Film, Television, Theatre from Bristol University (UK). I am intrepid, can-do and resourceful. My website for corporate clients is Avenue Films (one word) dot net.
