Gradual Redeployment of the Central African Armed Forces

Despite the presence of 12,000 MINUSCA troops, over 60% of the Central African Republic remains outside government control, with regions dominated by armed groups. The European Union's EUTM mission has trained over 3,000 Central African soldiers in Bangui, who also receive weapons and combat tactics training from Russian instructors. President Faustin Archange Touadéra, elected in 2016, seeks to build a republican army with these trained soldiers. With logistical support from the United States, China, and the EU, there is renewed hope among the population. The national army's redeployment is essential for restoring security, with displaced individuals in Paoua returning home and calm restored in Sibut and Bangassou, as reported by Serge Singah Bengba, president of the Mbomou deputies' collective.
