Sudan national team goalkeepers' trainer Fatau Dauda is hopeful of guiding the team to a place in Canada, USA and Mexico
Fatau Dauda, the goalkeepers' trainer for the Sudan national team, is optimistic about guiding the team to qualify for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, USA, and Mexico. Dauda was invited by Sudan head coach James Kwesi Appiah, whom he had previously worked with, to assist in the World Cup qualifiers. The coaching team, which includes Dauda, Kwesi Appiah, and Ignatius Osei-Fosu, has made a promising start, securing four points from two games and ranking just behind Senegal in Group B. Despite challenges such as working with players who have been out of league football, Dauda is focusing on changing the players' mindset and using his own World Cup experience as motivation. Sudan has never qualified for a World Cup before.
