Ali Furqan is a seasoned journalist, working as a correspondent with Voice of America in Islamabad, Pakistan. He covers finance, politics and national & regional security issues that feature one-on-one interviews of key figures.
Furqan, previously had worked with different media organizations during his 12-year career and covered various issues with special emphasis on politics, economy, governance, human rights, religious freedom and subjects as widespread as terrorism and the efforts to bring peace in Afghanistan. He also covered the U.S. presidential elections, and has reported on President Donald Trump’s immigration policies.
He covers the UN General Assembly session in New York, war between ISIS fighters and Iraqi forces, terrorism, and efforts to bring peace in Afghanistan.
In addition to his on-air duties, Furqan has frequently participated in panel discussions on various news channels, focusing on issues pertaining to the political situation in Pakistan and the region. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of the Punjab, Lahore and a master’s degree in Mass Communication from the National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad. He has also received training in media sciences from Oklahoma University USA.
He is the convener of the committee to counter Fake News/ Disinformation constituted by Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ).  
Moreover, Furqan is proficiently active and enabler in Social and Digital Media. He is an adept storyteller who treats news and feature stories.
