Double killer battered neighbour to death while on licence, jury told
Lawrence Bierton, a convicted double murderer released on licence, is accused of murdering his neighbour, Pauline Quinn, 73, with a coffee table. Bierton, who was jailed in 1996 and released in 2020, denies the murder on grounds of diminished responsibility. The attack's brutality was evidenced by blood stains and skull fractures. Tanzanian student taken hostage by Hamas confirmed dead
The Tanzanian government confirmed the death of Clemence Felix Mtenga, a student taken hostage by Hamas during their attack on Israel. Mtenga, along with another Tanzanian student, Joshua Mollel, was part of an agricultural internship program in Israel. The Tanzanian foreign ministry is coordinating with Israel to repatriate Mtenga's body, while Mollel's status remains uncertain.
