A Victory Against the Islamic State
A mass grave was discovered near Sinjar, Iraq, containing the remains of elderly Yazidi women murdered by the Islamic State (IS), considered 'useless' by the terrorists. Sinjar, previously under IS control since 2014, was retaken by Kurdish fighters, Yazidis, and US air support on November 13, coinciding with the Paris attacks. The liberation is strategic for disrupting IS's supply routes. Despite the city's destruction and the presence of explosives, Yazidis are returning. Identity cards of IS recruits were found and will be shared with intelligence services. The article also recounts the 2014 massacre of Yazidis by IS, which prompted US intervention.
