Hossein Alizadeh (1965) is a former senior officer in international political affairs and a former Iran’s charge d’affaires in the Iranian embassy in Helsinki. He was a career diplomat in the Iranian Foreign Ministry for 22 years. Following the 2009 rigged presidential election and the aftermath of the regime’s repressive and aggressive behavior against its innocent people, he resigned from his job and stepped down from his career in support of Iran’s Green Movement, releasing documents showing the election was gravely manipulated. Since then, he has been an independent freelance journalist contributing through his articles (some 700) and interviews (1800) to a variety of media such as BBC, VOA, Radio Farda (Radio Free Europe), Iran International TV, Radio Zamaneh, … in Persian or Arabic and English media about Iran, Arab, Islam, Middle East studies, and international issues. He is the author of “Iran-Egypt Historical Relation: Two Middle East Regional Powers” (the original Persian version was published by Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2005, and the Arabic translation was published in Egypt in 2007). He received his B.A. in Philosophy from Tehran University and his M.A. in International Relations (specialized field: Diplomacy & international organizations) from the School of International Relations. He is awarded a doctoral degree from the SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES in the field of PEACE AND CONFLICT RESEARCH at the University of Tampere, Finland. He is the author of Re-Thinking The Politics Of The Umma (Muslim Bloc): The Call for Islamic Global Politics.
