Genevieve is an independent award-winning third generation journalist, editor, author and photographer based in Olympia, Washington. She has lived and worked extensively in New York City, Israel, the West Bank, Jerusalem, Hawai'i and Los Angeles. She was formerly a full-time Forests Editor at Mongabay, an environmental and science news website, and more recently a Service Editor at McClatchy Media. She has published 5 travel guide books for Moon Handbooks on Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Holy Land between Feb. 2014 and August 2023. She is currently writing a novel about the journalism industry in America and globally, publication date TBD. Genevieve is a certified Solutions Journalism trainer through the Solutions Journalism Network, and a graduate of the 2024 Poynter Women's Leadership Academy in Florida, as well as a mentor in PEN America's Prison Writing program.
