Catarina Martins

Catarina Martins is a freelance multimedia journalist based in Porto, Portugal, currently working with Deutsche Welle and Euronews. She produces and edits news content for radio, television, and digital platforms in Portuguese and English.

She holds a Master's degree in Journalism and Communication from the University of Coimbra and a Bachelor's degree in Foreign Languages and Cultures from the School of Education of Porto.

Catarina began her career at TSF and has since built experience across national and international news environments. She was selected for the prestigious Robert Schuman Traineeship at the European Parliament in Luxembourg, where she worked within the Portuguese Translation Unit. She has also worked with Rádio Universitária do Minho and Rádio Nova, before joining Euronews as a freelance journalist.
Additionally, she completed an international traineeship at Deutsche Welle in Bonn, Germany, through the INOV Contacto programme, which marked the beginning of her ongoing collaboration with the organisation.

Her work focuses on producing clear, accurate, and engaging news content across multiple formats and platforms. She combines editorial rigour with adaptability in fast-paced and multicultural environments, delivering audience-focused journalism with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
